Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter Movie Poster
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, a film based off the novel written by Seth-Grahame- Smith, is a fictional story about the greatest president of all time. This is an untold story about Abraham Lincoln's dark side. As a child, he lost his mother to a vampire and since has been wanting to get revenge. At a young age he was scared, too weak and unaware of how to kill. He meets a man in his later years who saves him from being killed from a vampire. This man is also a vampire hunter. He agrees to teach Abe the methods and techniques on how to kill Vampires. Abe grows up to be the most deadliest Vampire hunter and the President of the United States.

Mixed with vampire slaying, this is an accurate depiction about Abraham Lincolns life. From everything from growing up in Chicago to leading an army in the Civil War. Sadly, this movie has gotten some really bad reviews. For the most part to me, it seems this movie is a "love it or hate it" movie. I have talked to Horror fans and History buffs about this film and this is where the mixed reviews come in.

The Horror fans love it! The blood, guts, vampires and dark aesthetics of this film make it an instant horror classic! We as Horror fans get the best of both worlds, an iconic figure kicking major ass killing and spilling the blood EVERYWHERE of vampires! The History buffs HATE it. To them, if every little detail about Abraham Lincolns "real" life isn't accurate than it's an insult.

The Gettysburg Address
Personally, I think that going into this movie, KNOWING that it is FICTIONAL and looking at the title Abraham Lincoln VAMPIRE HUNTER you have to know what you are getting yourself into. This movie wasn't made to be taken too seriously and kind of made for fun. If you accept the film for what it is and review it from a film maker perspective and not a 100% historical accuracy perspective then you will enjoy this film. I honestly believe this is one of the best films of 2012. GO SEE IT!
